Boston’s Big Data Hackspace is kicking off November 17th with its first hackathon and we’re inviting the whole community to participate! Join us at our amazing space in the old Kendall Boiler & Tank Building (yes, THAT building) for a full day of hacking with 115 coders, 45 pizzas, and beer.
The Hack/Reduce Hackathon is an all-day event where hackers build cool Big Data analytics applications that run on a Hadoop cluster. Hack/Reduce organizers provide the space, the food, the cluster and some hand-holding.
We’re pre-loading the datasets found here: https://github.com/hackreduce/Hackathon/wiki/Datasets. If there are other data sets you’d like to work on, let us know as soon as possible so that you don’t waste half the day Saturday waiting for your data to be uploaded to the cluster.
